What are the benefits?

Club Tanzanite is about giving back to the veterinary fraternity and the community it serves in South Africa. It is a means to contribute to the profession that trained and created you, without having to be directly involved in any kind of charity work which would take more time from your already busy life. Club Tanzanite is about prestige, for you as an individual vet and for your veterinary practice or veterinary retail outlet. A trophy and certificate to display in your practice, as well as a Tanzanite stone to do with as you wish, are but some of the ways you will be recognised as being a Club Tanzanite member. Apart from individual care and treatment of animals, animal owners like to see a tangible demonstration of how their vets are contributing to the health and well-being of the animal kingdom at large. The work of the South African Veterinary Foundation is one way where a measurable and scientific approach to animal care is achieved. Being recognised as part of such efforts has the potential of increasing the esteem in which you as a vet is held. Because of the Non-Profit and Public Benefit status of the South African Veterinary Foundation NPO, all donations are tax-deductible and Section 18A certificates are available on request.

How does it work?

Club Tanzanite operates on a tier system with a minimum contribution per tier per financial year. Contributions are cumulative and all count towards final standings at the end of the financial year. By contributing the minimum amount required, one automatically becomes a member of Club Tanzanite, with associated benefits. Any subsequent contributions serve to move one up through the various tiers.

As soon as you start contributing and your registration is completed and accepted, you will be accepted as a Green Member of Club Tanzanite. You will retain this status for as long as you contribute during the financial year. At the end of the financial year, your total contributions will be tallied and your status for the year determined. You will then be recognised with that membership for that particular financial year and this information will be displayed and acknowledged for a period of 5 years.

Once your registration with Club Tanzanite has been accepted, you will be able to log into the website with your username and password and keep track of your contributions in order to determine how far you are from any particular tier as well as being able to print your 18A receipt. 

Gold Member

To qualify for Gold Membership status, a minimum contribution of R 30 000.00 has to be made in a financial year. Membership applies to a financial year only.

Silver Member

To qualify for Silver Membership status, a minimum contribution of R 22 000.00 has to be made in a financial year. Membership applies to a financial year only.

Bronze Member

To qualify for Bronze Membership status, a minimum contribution of R 18 000.00 has to be made in a financial year. Membership applies to a financial year only.
