Membership of Club Tanzanite is exclusive to veterinarians however the South African Veterinary Foundation welcomes any donations made by members of the public. Donations are Tax-Free and an 18A receipt can be issued for donations made to the South African Veterinary Foundation

Monies donated to the SAVF are invested primarily into veterinary research in South Africa. The South African Veterinary Foundation has made meaningful contributions to many Masters', PhD and post-doctoral degrees over the past 30 years. Undergraduate bursaries for veterinary students are awarded on an annual basis and recognition provided for well-deserving top achievers in veterinary medicine by sponsoring a prize for the best student in clinical studies in the Veterinary Science Degree. Deserving causes and projects are supported in cases where the board of directors has agreed to sponsor such work.

Over the past few years, the SAVF has been passionately involved in supporting work with Rhinos in South Africa and assistance in the fight against rhino poaching.

Funds are apportioned to projects approved by the board after intense review and analysis of proposals and requests. The SAVF is a registered non-profit and public benefit organisation. This means as a PBO we can issue Section 18A tax certificates for your donations, which will reduce your individual or company tax liability.
